Furious by Woojurox's dishonesty, Song Ji-hyo's side says, "I can tell the date of giving money by looking at the article"
Actress Song Ji-hyo has refuted the position of her former agency, Woojurox Entertainment (Ujurox). She stated that there has been no coordination or consultation with Woojurox regarding the settlement payment schedule. On June 30, Woojurox announced that the investment in US financial institutions had been completed, with a 30 billion won investment set up for July 3rd. Woojurox officials promised to pay the overdue settlement to Song Ji-hyo by July 20th, stating that they have coordinated the situation with Song Ji-hyo's legal representative. The original payment date was February 10th, but the settlement payment was not paid.
Woojurox promised to pay the settlement by the end of the day, but it was unilaterally delayed to June 26 and June 30. Ujurox also informed the law firm of the delay in settlement payment, stating that the funds could only be executed on July 17th.
Namsan Law Firm, the legal representative of actress Song Ji-hyo, is facing criminal charges against former representatives of Woojulox Entertainment for not paying her settlement money. The company has filed a suit for settlement payment with the Seoul Central District Court, alleging that former representatives have not coordinated or consulted with Woojulox Entertainment regarding the payment schedule. The company has also been aware of delays in payment or a new payment schedule through media and has only delivered it unilaterally.
Woojulox Entertainment confirmed the recent investment and promised payment by July 3rd or 10th, or by July 20th at the latest. However, media reports suggest that Song Ji-hyo and Wooju Rocks Entertainment had consulted on the payment date. Woojulox Entertainment initially failed to pay the payment due on February 10, 2023. Namsan, on behalf of Song Ji-hyo, urged him twice to fulfill the payment obligations under the exclusive contract. Namsan wrote a debt repayment memorandum and promised to pay the settlement by April 10, 2023. However, Woojulox Entertainment's promise was not fulfilled, leading to Song Ji-hyo terminating the exclusive contract, leading to a lawsuit for settlement payment and criminal prosecution.
In May 2023, Woojulox Entertainment announced its intention to pay settlement money to Namsan law firm by June 25, 2023. However, the payment date was postponed to June 26, 2023, and the payment was unilaterally postponed to June 30. The delay was reported through media, and Song Ji-hyo and the legal representative were not directly contacted about it. On July 3, 2023, Woojulox Entertainment informed Namsan of the delay, stating that the execution of funds was only possible on July 17. Actor Song Ji-hyo and the legal representative hope that Woojulox Entertainment will quickly fulfill its obligation to pay the settlement money, which has been delayed for about five months.
They cannot trust Ujurox Entertainment until the payment is completed, and urge Woojulox Entertainment to faithfully and responsibly fulfill its obligation. The ongoing legal process is necessary until the payment is made.
